Bulk rubbish collections are held as needed usually around the wet season.

Burke Shire Council waste reduction and recycling plan

Burke Shire Council considered the BSC Waste Reduction and Recycling Plan at the Ordinary Council meeting of 23 March 2017. In line with section 125(2) of the Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011, Council must consult with the public about the proposed plan prior to adoption. In finalising the plan prior to adoption, Council must take into account any submissions received about the plan in line with section 125(5) of the Act.

The timeframes set up for receiving public comment on the Waste Reduction and Recycling Plan are outlined in the table below:

3 May 2017 Waste Reduction and Recycling Period closes
3 - 17 May 2017 Review submissions, comments, etc.
18 May 2017 If submissions received, present submissions to Council for consideration
18 May 2017 If no submissions, Council to adopt Waste Reduction and Recycling Plan at the May Council Meeting
15 June 2017 If many submissions received, Council to adopt Waste Reduction and Recycling Plan at the June Council Meeting.
